INSTRUCTIONS ON VISA APPLICATION TO=20 VIETNAM

1. General=20 information

A VISA to Vietnamese can be = applied by mail or in = person at=20 the Consulate General of Vietnam in San Francisco. Visa application = dossier=20 includes the following:

  • The = original=20 PASSPORT.=20
  • One completed Vis= a=20 application form
  • One = 2"x2"=20 passport-size photograph stapled or glued firmly to the application = form.=20
  • VISA = fee: Money=20 order or Casher's Check (Certified Check) payable to "The Consulate = General of=20 Vietnam".  
  • A = self-addressed=20 postage-paid envelope (a self-addressed pre-paid FedEx Shipping Label = with=20 effective FedEx account number or a pre-paid US Postal Office service = envelope=20 are preferred), if applied by mail or the applicant requests the visa = to be=20 returned by mail within the United States.(*)

    2.=20 Diplomatic and official visas
         =20
  • Diplomatic and=20 official visas will be granted GRATIS unless otherwise agreed upon = between=20 Vietnam and the applicant's country.
  • In = addition to the=20 documents specified above, the applicant must submit a Note verbal or = an=20 official letter from the concerned agencies of the U.S. federal = government,=20 foreign embassies or consulates accredited to the U.S., international=20 organizations.

    3. = Business=20 visas
         =20
  • In = addition to the=20 documents specified in (1), applicant must obtain approval through = sponsor in=20 Vietnam. The Consulate General  will issue visa(s) only upon = approval by=20 Authorities in Vietnam.

    4. Processing Schedule
          =
  • Two = business days=20 are required to process visa applications. Please do not make = telephone status=20 inquiries prior to these deadline. Please remember to note down your = passport=20 number and inform the Consular section that number when you call to = check visa=20 status.
